Position Summary:

Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur)  based Services Engineer, required to deploy and integrate Ribbon’s VoIP product/solution portfolio to the Malaysian customer base, and neighboring Asian regional markets.

Deployment services are inclusive of commissioning, nodal and network integration, and acceptance testing , required for new deployments, network expansions, feature additions/enhancements, software upgrades and platform migrations.

Key internal interfaces – Hardware, software & network Engineering, Project management, regional and global technical support.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Deployment and integration of solution elements to achieve Customer Acceptance
  • Performing initial testing on equipment to verify proper installation and configuration
  • Implementation of “next release” software upgrades and new Product/Feature content.
  • Compilation of Test strategies, Test Plans and Test Case/Instructions.
  • Execution of Test Case / Test Instruction.
  • Effective collaboration with global internal design and support teams.
  • Effective and concise Technical Report writing for both internal and external organizations.
  • Effective and analytical problem solving and issue management capabilities.
  • Effective and complete follow-up on all issues and items
  • Flexible with working hours on occasion in order to accommodate customer maintenance windows and customer schedule
  • Able to operate independently while on location at customer locations.
  • Ability to travel to service intra and inter- regional customer base.

Experience and Skills:

Mandatory skills:

Candidate must be self-motivated and a quick learner with strong communication skills.  Must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be driven to achieve results while maintaining the ability to effectively work with others. 

  •  3 to 4 years of experience in telecommunication domain.
  • Strong knowledge in VoIP and SIP protocol, IP-Networking, LAN’s / WAN’s, Virtual LAN’s, SQL.
  • Excellent problem analysis skills.
  • Excellent technical report writing.
  • Proficient in standard Microsoft Office applications and tools.
  • Proficient in use of IP tracing & support tools


Desired skills:

  •  Bachelor degree in Computer Science/Engineering.  (Or equivalent industry experience)
  • Good knowledge in Solaris and Linux  OS
  • Entry knowledge Virtual environments  (NFV, VNF)
