Position Title:     Sr. Manager Tax

Location: Plano, TX

Position Summary:

This position will report to the Sr Director Tax.  This position will be responsible for managing the global tax provision and 10-Q / 10-K SEC reporting.  The position will also assist with US tax compliance, and tax planning issues. 

  • Responsible for the quarterly and year-end tax provision and 10-Q and 10-K SEC reporting

  • Apply GAAP, ASC 740 and FIN 48 standards to comply with all reporting requirements

  • Responsible for overseeing and documenting all domestic SOX controls

  • Monitor changes in federal, state and franchise tax laws to ensure all enacted laws are timely and accurately reported in the quarterly tax provisions

  • Research various tax issues and prepare technical memos

  • Responsible for global cash tax forecasting

  • Assist in Federal and State planning

  • Analyze tax laws for application to various business proposals

  • Assist Tax Manager with the preparation and review of federal and state income tax returns and other compliance issues

  • Assist Sr Director Tax with domestic due diligence on acquisitions

  • Provide support for other Tax Department projects as assigned

Experience and Skills:

Required Skills:

  • Minimum Ten years Tax Experience with CPA firm and/or internal corporate tax department

  • A solid understanding of ASC 740 and GAAP required

  • Must have good tax research skills as well as multinational corporate tax experience

  • Knowledge of R&D Credits and Foreign Tax Credits preferred

 

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate with internal employees and external consultants

  • Strong workpaper and documentation skills

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced working environment

  • Oracle experience preferred

  • Knowledge of One-Source tax software and provision module preferred

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • BS or BBA with major in Accounting

  • Masters in Tax and/or CPA
