Position Title: Software Engineering Technical Specialist

Location: Westford, MA

Position Summary:

Provide advanced computer application support for creation, design and maintenance of software applications in ribbon session border controller (SBC). Sustain application engineering for session border controller including product technical customer support. Diagnose and fix software application defects. Independently contribute to maintenance and enhancement of session border controller, leveraging expertise of product, VOIP communications, software application development, and server-based applications. Implement features in C/C++ and session border controller proprietary FMM profiles. Lead analysis and improvements in product performance using SBC and Linux key performance indicators. Contribute to maintenance of ribbons flexible message manipulation framework and profile development used for product maintenance and customized VOIP communications. Produce detailed functional and application design specifications for new features that satisfy function and quality objectives. Provide detail reporting of issue investigations, resolutions and designs for product development and customer issue support. Provide technical leadership and mentoring, using SBC subject matter expertise, in direction and quality validation of product enhancements and maintenance. Perform product technical support to system test, documentation, and professional services in feature development and maintenance.

 

Experience and Skills:

Position requires a bachelor's degree and 6 years of progressive, post-bachelor's experience. Employer will accept a master's degree and 4 years of progressive, post-bachelor's experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience. Majors and/or fields of study required: computer science, engineering, or related field. Occupational experience required: Session Border Controller Software Engineer, VOIP Application Server Software Engineer or related occupation.

Requires experience with:

1. Development of highly-available, carrier-class voice over internet protocol products;

2. Development of SBCS (Session Border Controllers), B2BUAS (Back-To-Back User Agent), or X-CSCF (Call Session Control Function) products;

3. Voice over internet protocols, H.248 (Gateway Control Protocol), diameter, and lawful-intercept (LI) protocols;

4. C,C++, Linux, Mysql, and script development;

5. Postgresql, Mysql, and other relational databases; and

6. Production of comprehensive architectural and design specifications.
