Ribbon is seeking a Product Manager to manage products and evolution of products to public and private cloud deployment models.   

This key leadership position is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to market delivery to end of life, and is ultimately responsible for ensuring products meet market share, revenue, profit and return on investment targets.  Tasks include: evaluating and prioritizing market and customer requirements, defining product strategy and direction, working with engineering in product development to ensure timely and high quality delivery of solutions, and with sales to ensure revenue and customer expectations are met.  The position requires leadership, project management, and cross-functional coordination throughout the product development lifecycle while working with customers, sales, R&D and other stakeholders.

Position Summary:

Create and maintain the product roadmap, and manage prioritization and tradeoffs with customer experience

• Follow industry trends and competition, specifically as it related to delivery of solutions in cloud environments, and adjust product strategy and roadmap

• Examine new market and technology and propose action and forecast product demand (unit, revenue) and market share

• Prioritize software development resources – balancing customer needs and company revenue targets

• Meet with customers, presenting product offering, roadmap, and collecting requirements. Participate in resolution of customer satisfaction issues by working with account teams and engineering to understand issues and propose solutions

• Manage high-value customer and strategic partner relationships

• Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional leaders to support the strategic product direction

• Establish pricing strategies for new Products as well as existing Products evolving to the Cloud • Collaborate with other departments to establish, implement, and maintain standardized product development and product management processes and procedures to ensure optimal performance throughout the product life cycle and software release cycles

• Act as the representative to internal and external clients throughout the product lifecycle

• Coordinate commercial launch across functional teams

• Coordinate RFI/RFQ/RFP responses and field trials

• Develop requirements for all client communications, sales presentations and training materials

• Create/edit/maintain product collateral, whitepapers, presentations as needed by the organization

• Create Product and Market requirements documents (PRDs/MRDs), provide input to marketing requirements, architecture documents, and review and approve functional specifications documents

• Generate product pricing and packaging, product code creation, work with sales team on product quotes


Experience and Skills:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or Technology.  MBA an asset
  • 5+ years of experience in a technology company, ideally with exposure to product management

  • Experience building and delivering applications into cloud environments

  • Experience with virtualization technologies (KVM, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Public/Private Clouds)

  • Experience with Business Case development, specifically with cloud deployments of applications an asset

  • Understanding of the use of automation tools in the development and deployment of software applications

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with leadership and management focus

  • Ability to effectively tailor the communication of technical and non-technical information to different audiences

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams across organizations in multiple geographic locations

  • Excellent high-level technical skills and in utilizing standards defined in 3GPP, GSMA, W3C and IETF

  • Experience with Open APIs (such as REST, SOAP, etc.) an asset

  • Experience in networking, wireless preferably, is an asset
