Position Title: Senior Optical Business Development Professional

Location:  Remote

Position Summary:

Reporting into the Regional business group, the senior optical business development professional has the following primary responsibilities:

• Represent and shape Ribbon’s Optical solution portfolio and business direction for the Americas Region
• Represent the portfolio vision and direction outbound to key customers including Telco’s and MSOs
• Represent inbound the requirements for competitive differentiation and market captures in the Americas region to product management
• Optical technical lead on RFx responses and deal structure and on solution consulting with key customers.

This position offers a unique opportunity to build business while contributing to the strategy, innovation and evolution of our Optical Networking solutions.


Experience and Skills:

• 10 years of previous optical networking vendor experience in product management
• Business development, and/or technical marketing experience.
• Working knowledge of key building-block technologies including coherent optics, photonic switching, amplification, optical system design, SDN control and APIs.
• Experience holding interactive, consultative interactions with service providers to understand their needs and how optical solutions can fulfill, or to identify gaps in the portfolio.
• Excellent listener, presenter, and communicator who can lead and facilitate interactive dialogue with architecture, planning, engineering, and product management teams of telecom service providers.
• Excellent at dialoguing and negotiating with product management teams on the competitive merits of release roadmap trade-offs.
• Able to think about network architectures and costs.
• Can work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
