Position Title: Senior Deployment Engineer

Location:  Plano, TX 

Position Summary:

As a Deployment Engineer you will be responsible for supporting lab and network deployments of Ribbon Communications SBC Core productions and other Voice over IP switching software and applications. Specific tasks include but are not limited to:
• Working with customer/lab personnel to plan and engineer any new equipment deployments
• Providing knowledge of Ribbon Communications and Third-party equipment in setup and configuration
• Working with a wide variety of Enterprise customers and partners across the US
• Ensuring proper and appropriate s/w installation and configuration of Ribbon SBC Core products
• Performing integration testing with customers to ensure the SBC Core product is configured and working properly in the customer environment
• Performing initial testing on equipment to verify proper installation and configuration
• Detailing testing requirements and plans and generating and executing appropriate test cases
• Communicate effectively, clearly and concisely (both written and verbal) with management, customers and peers
• Working with Ribbon partners and other equipment manufactures through interoperability testing and subsequent issue resolution
• Driving to appropriate resolution any issues that are discovered with Ribbon equipment either personally or by working with RIbbon support/engineering staff
• Effective and complete follow-up on all issues and items

• Flexible with working hours on occasion in order to accommodate customer maintenance windows and customer schedule

• This position is largely remote, but will require occasional (10%) travel

Experience and Skills:

Candidate must be self-motivated and a quick learner with strong communication skills who is able to work independently with customers on individual projects.  Must also be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be driven to achieve results while maintaining the ability to effectively work with others, and able to jump from one customer project to another within the same day.

Preferred skills include:

  • Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering
  • Linux, KVM, VMWare, AWS, Azure, SOAP API knowledge and skills
  • Understanding of IP network architecture and concepts
  • Knowledge and experience with SIP protocols and concepts
  • Knowledge and experience with telecommunications voice networks, protocols and concepts
  • 3-5 years of applicable telecommunications experience
  • Perl or equivalent scripting knowledge and demonstrated use

This position will interface with multiple aspects of the organization including customer service, program management, quality assurance and development engineering.
