 Position Title: Senior Product Manager

Location: Plano, TX

Position Summary:

The Senior Product Manager for our Packet and Optical Business will possess a blend of business and technical skills and the drive to work cross functionally to further expand a dedicated suite of products in the US market. 

  Job Description:

  • Serve as a knowledge center in the company for the Packet-Optical technology and product line

  • Define requirements for new product features and functionality

  • Create Product and Market requirements documents (PRDs/MRDs), provide input to marketing requirements, architecture documents, and review and approve functional specifications documents

  • Generate product pricing and packaging, product code creation, work with sales team on product quotes

  • Meet with customers, presenting product-offering, roadmap, and collecting requirements. Participate in resolution of customer satisfaction issues by working with account team and engineering to understand issues and propose solutions

  • Determine requirements from specific customer needs as well as overall market demand, as determined from market data, competitive analysis, standards, and other industry sources

  • Follow industry trends and competition to adjust product strategy and roadmap

  • Support RFI/RFQ/RFP responses and field trials

  • Create product collateral, whitepapers, presentations as needed by the organization

  • Collaborate with other departments to establish, implement, and maintain standardized product development and product management processes and procedures to ensure optimal performance throughout the new product life cycle, product release cycles

 

Experience and Skills:

Required Skills:

  • 7+ years of experience in a product management position in networking / telecommunications (System Eng. / PLM)
  • Excellent knowledge in data networking technologies such as Segment Routing, IP/MPLS, L2/L3 VPN, Ethernet.
  • Knowledge in mobile transport solution and 5G technologies
  • Ability to evaluate system design trade-offs as they pertain to scalability, performance, cost, functionality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with leadership and management focus
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams across organizations in multiple geographic locations
  • Ability to effectively tailor the communication of technical and non-technical information to different audiences

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or Technology. MBA a plus.
