SUMMARY

A System Integrator Engineer is a person that specializes in bringing together Real-Time communications Network Elements and Network subsystems into a whole and ensuring that those elements and subsystems function together.

A RIBBON Communications System Integration Engineer performs integration of the following Products to the Customer Networks:

•                 Session Border Controllers. RIBBON Communications SBCs are market-leading enabling multi-service interconnections for fixed, mobile, cable, and OTT operators and enterprises.

•                 Media Gateways. Media Gateways operates across all wireless and wireline, access and core, IP and TDM environments. Wireless solutions supported span GSM, UMTS, CDMA, and satellite networks in 2G, 3G, and 4G/LTE architectures.

•                 Application Servers and Web Real Time Communications. Application server simplifies and enriches the user experience by providing fully-featured, IP-based multimedia communications applications for both business and consumers. 

•                 Call Controllers. Call Session Controller is the world’s leading IP and IMS communications convergence platform for voice and multimedia

A Network Integration engineer needs a broad range of Telecommunications Engineering skills and is likely to be defined by a breadth of knowledge rather than a depth of knowledge. These skills are likely to include software, systems and enterprise architecture, software and hardware engineering, interface protocols, and general problem solving skills.

Responsibilities of a System Integration Engineer are the following:

•                 Commissioning. During this process, the Network Integration Engineer configures the Node required Operating System, local configurations and performs Intra-Nodal resting to verify the correct working of the Network Element, applies patching, Maintenance Software upgrades, temporary licenses for Network Element Configuration and Verify Alarms functionality.

•                 Integration. It consist on the association of the New Network Element with the existing Customer Network, the process to associate consist on the following activities:

o                 Integrate the Network Element to the Customer Routing and validate communication between New Node and existing nodes.

o                 Integrate the Network Element to the Customer Management System and validate that alarms and provisioning tools communicate well between both.

o                 Integrate the Network Element to the Customer Billing system, to allow the Call Detail Records reporting to the Customer Billing platform.

•                 Test and Verification. It consist on apply together with the Customer the testing of the New Network Element Functionalities and capabilities, the intention is to obtain the Customer approval for the New Network Element and for the Project.

•                 Closing. It consist on the action to report to Project Team the Customer approvals for the Project, then the Project Team will proceed to the administrative closing of the project.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Complete all projects as per the defined SoW (Statement of Work) within the budget.

Support & deliver Network Implementation Services to drive Customer Acceptance of deployed hardware & functionality

Understand a system network design and execute statement of works.

Delivery of quality services to meet customer requirements.

Ribbon Software installation, commissioning and execution of test plans.

Creation and execution of action plans, workarounds & MOPs for custom activities collaborating with Global internal design and support teams.

Develop the high-level network methodology - technical requirements / risk analysis.

Effective and concise Technical Report writing for both internal and external organizations.

Proven communication skills increasing Customer trust and personal consideration

Relationship building & interaction across internal & external organizations

Support issue resolution

Effectively adaptable and flexible to an ever changing & evolving environment

Work from various customer locations

May be required to work off normal business hours

 If not out of Mexico City due to Business travel, need to work from office at least 80% of the time.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Excellent spoken and written English and Spanish. Portuguese will be considered as a plus.

Bachelor’s degree in in Telecommunications or Technical discipline.

Between two and five years of work experience in Technical roles in Telecommunication.

Understanding of Unified Communications industry environment (Call Servers, SBC, Application Servers, Media Gateways…).

Knowledge of Linux Operating Systems and LAN/WAN Networking are mandatory.

Knowledge of VoIP, IP and SIP protocols, Wireshark, tcpdump are required for the job.

Knowledge of Openstack and VMWare are a plus.

Knowledge of Scripting Programming languages (python, perl, PHP) and programming skills on APIs are a plus.

Ability to take a project or task from inception to completion understanding when to escalate and strong problem analysis skills.

Ability to work in a time critical environment is required and comfortable working independently.

Organizational and time management skills.

Solid written and verbal communications skills, as well as a track record working with other teams.

Data Base Engineering (DBE) experience is a Plus for this position
