Position Title: Solution Architect/Data Scientist- Network Analytics

Location: Westford, MA

Position Summary:

Ribbon Communications is seeking a full-time, experienced Solution Architect/Data Scientist who will be critical in driving new business around network analytics products and solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep understanding of mobile networking and telecommunication with a passion for developing data-driven solutions leveraging analytics technologies. The position requires working through all phases of data analytics lifecycle while assisting Ribbons sales and sales engineers with customer data analytics projects.

This position is part of the Global Data Analytics Practice reporting to the VP Systems Engineering for Analytics.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Transform customer goals into new or existing data product solutions by working through analytics and modeling lifecycle from requirements to deployment

  • Build, demonstrate, and potentially deploy proof-of-concepts or PS solutions leveraging customer data sets, open technologies and Ribbon Analytics environment

  • Collaborate with Sales, SEs and the broader Ribbon team to identify the best possible resources to move projects forward

  • Push solution boundaries by evaluating and incorporating new technologies to deliver innovative analytics.

  • Serve as a technical SME in area of networking data analytics

  • Act as the representative of the customers throughout the analytics project lifecycle

  • Derive or synthesize data sets from a variety of sources such as test network data, network monitoring tools (e.g. Wireshark), log data, and SBO specifications to build mock solutions

  • Support RFI/RFQ/RFP responses and field trials as necessary

  • Assist product and marketing teams by capturing customer & product requirements, building solution presentations and training materials.

  • 50% Travel



 

 

 

Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math or related technical field is required; Concentration in Networking or Data Science a plus

  • 5+ years in network engineering; 2+ years of experience in data analytics

  • Experience in network architecture, deployment and troubleshooting

  • Experience in all analytics phases such as data understanding, data preparation, data engineering, data modeling, business intelligence and closed-loop automation

  • Expertise in either mobile or fixed data networking and Internet protocols; LTE/5G a plus

  • Experience modeling and deploying AI/ML algorithms using standard modeling tools; Deep learning a plus

  • Very strong ability to grasp and apply new information quickly

  • Strong customer interaction experience and project management skills         

  • Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases

  • Past experience developing in Python, Java, or similar

  • Hands on experience in Linux environments as power user; Cloud technologies, docker/Kubernetes a plus

  • Ability to build interactive dashboards to showcase analytical outcomes and business intelligence; Tableau or similar a plus

  • Ability to independently decompose larger problems and progressively work a solution to completion

  • Ability to effectively tailor the communication of technical information to different audiences

  • Ability to quickly pickup new tools and technologies to assist in rapid prototypes and solutions

  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams across organizations in multiple geographic locations

  • Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
