Position Summary:

The position will be responsible for significantly growing the Ribbon Edge business within the Asia sales region. This role will report into the Senior VP for Asia.  Responsibility is to achieve or exceed the assigned sales quota by identifying and closing new prospects of Ribbon’s Edge solution in the region and building a solid sales funnel for future revenue.  The Edge Business Development Manager will be expected to execute a wining sales strategy for each account/prospect and work with and the Regional Account leaders to drive and accelerate Ribbon Edge Sales, additionally the Business Development Manager is required to find new Ribbon Edge Partners in both the enterprise and carrier service provider market.  Work with Ribbon partners where appropriate, attend trade shows, conferences and network within industry.  Proactively communicate with your manager on progress within the region, strategic opportunities and customer requirements.  Establish accurate sales revenue projections including maintaining the Ribbon internal systems used by management for forecasting and manufacturing.  Manage cross-functional pre- and post-sales resources in day-to-day operations to ensure a high level of customer support and satisfaction.

Experience and Skills:

  • Self motivated, results-oriented professional with the drive to succeed
  • Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current Service Provider/Telco customers and prospective customers in the assigned territory/market segment to generate new business for Sonus’s products/services.
  • Experience in prospecting with a high percentage of new account closure rate
  • Ability to work independently and manage all sales related activities in a region
  • Excellent presentation, communications and interpersonal skills
  • Experience selling at all levels within an organization – both externally and internally
  • Consultative and solution selling techniques, excellent business acumen and technically astute
  • Ability to find creative solutions to complex issues
  • Demonstrated ability to drive a sense of urgency throughout the organization and to drive important initiatives to completion
  • A minimum of 7+ years sales experience in the telecommunications industry preferably with an IP networking equipment company or telecommunications service provider; selling to the carrier/service provider market in the fixed and mobile networks
  • Solid understanding of VoIP technology.
  • Demonstrated track record of exceeding revenue targets in a highly complex and competitive environment
  • Ability to travel as needed (40-to 50% travel may be required)
